Cadette "Screenwriter" Workshop, San Diego

The Cadette screenwriting workshop is an introduction to writing for films. We create characters and learn about plot and scene structure through exploring movies like The Wizard of Oz and Toy Story. Then we put all this new knowledge together and create the plot points of our own screenplay. The girls will be able to complete the final step of the badge, writing a 12-page script, after the session with the concept we develop in the workshop or one they choose to create on their own.

* The girls should watch The Wizard of Oz (classic Judy Garland version) before the workshop so we can use its story to discuss plot structure.
